In this era, people live their lives and depend on everything in the online world which has become an important factor and influenced over all of us due to its convenience and promptness.
Online Marketing which is widely used becomes an important tool in business marketing. Many educational institutes have initiated the curriculum in Online Marketing. The Online Marketing programme at Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna in Chiang Rai Province aims to support skills in continuity of learning. Competition is a part to increase in learning competency. For example, MK RMUTL Team which had the team’s representatives studying in the Marketing Program, Faculty of Business Administration and Liberal Arts at Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna as follows: Miss Nilobol Puangngam, Miss Nanthicha Thamboonsong, Miss Wipawee Yavichai, Miss Pimpaporn Chaiyanan, and Miss Rujira Malai entered the competition in the DBD e-Commerce Pitching Contest 2019 Project under the theme of “Innovative Idea, Online Community, Creativity, Teenager”. The team won the first prize of the competition over 100 teams of undergraduate students across the nation and awarded them the scholarship of 15,000 Baht including a study trip to Alibaba Group in The People’s Republic of China.
Nathamon Supbunto, Lecturer in Marketing of the Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, Chaing Rai, said about the beginning of the competition that “the beginning of this award started from myself. I am a lecturer teaching Online Marketing. I heard the news from the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce that they had invited undergraduate students to submit the project of the online business model of community products by BDB for presentation. So, I suggested the undergraduate students to submit the project to this competition. I and the students did not expect to receive this award. I just only needed the students to be courage, to be creative, to be assertive, to meet new friends, and to gain experience in team work, to be more responsible, and to pull out their efficiency.”.
Wipawee Yavichai, an undergraduate student in Marketing, had her opinions about this competition that “To send the project into this competition, we learned how to solve the problem and how to adapt the plan before the day of the presentation. The day before the project presentation, all groups had received some advice and suggestions from the specialists to make the plans to be more perfect. We also received more comments from the specialists that we needed to adjust the plan as they suggested within a night. The collaboration of the team member was needed to brainstorm the ideas to make the business plan completed before the presentation on the next day.”.
Nilobol Puangngam, a member of the MK RMUTL Team, said “We did not learn only about problem-solving, but we were also proud of our success in make the reputation to the university. We also acquired knowledge and some advice from the specialists and exchanged the ideas to students from the other universities. We had an opportunity to live abroad, to study culture of the other country, to learn more about language and technology of the other country. I believed that knowledge and experience gained from this competition would benefit to my life in the future including in career.”.
Nanthicha Thamboonsong, an undergraduate student in Marketing, said “Thank you to the Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, Chiang Rai to support us in all aspects: supervisors providing some advice to us, expenses throughout the competition, and participation in the project presentation until we succeed today.”.
Pimpaporn Chaiyanan said “Do not let your dream just be a dream, but you should make your dream comes true. It is your responsibility to your dream. Although there are obstacles to challenge your wills, you must be patient to pursue your dream and to fight against those difficulties. The success will belong to ones who never give up.”.
Finally, the MK RMUTL Team would like to convey the message to teenagers who wants to succeed that you should pay attention to your study and listen to what the lecturers teach you, and do your responsibilities the best. You should open your eyes for new information and knowledge to open the world; and also, always develop yourselves and explore new experience. Please do not give up and always make good relationships to other people. The importance is that you are not only be a smart one, but also be a good one.
